Man Appears In Court On Stalking Charge

A Coleraine man appeared before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court charged with stalking following his arrest earlier this week.

Christopher Thomas Patrick McCotter, of Braemar, Coleraine, is accused of engaging in a course of conduct amounting to stalking between 1 January and 14 May 2025.

He was granted bail for £500, subject to strict conditions.

These include:

• He must not attempt to see, speak to, or contact the alleged injured party.

• He is prohibited from entering the town of Portstewart, as defined by its 30 mph speed limit boundary.

The case has been adjourned and is scheduled to return to Coleraine Courthouse on Mountsandel Road on 9 June 2025 at 10:30.
