The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has presented Drumachose Primary School with a civic gift to mark its 50th anniversary.

Alderman Mark Fielding visited the Limavady school recently as part of the celebrations.

It recently launched a ‘Legacy Project’ to coincide with its 50th year, with a proposal to develop a state-of-the-art multi-sensory room and an outdoor learning space to enhance the physical health and emotional wellbeing of its pupils.

Speaking afterwards, Alderman Fielding said: “I was pleased to have this opportunity to present Drumachose Primary School with a framed coat of arms as it celebrates this special anniversary.

“The school has played an important role in the community for 50 years and I want to thank all those who make Drumachose Primary School an outstanding place of learning where children are supported to achieve their best.

“I offer my best wishes to everyone involved with its exciting legacy project as it seeks to further enhance its impressive learning environment for the benefit of pupils and the wider community.”
