Police have confirmed that no arrests were made following a search of premises on New Market Street in Coleraine last week.

Officers carried out the operation as part of an ongoing investigation into what they say 'suspected criminal activity linked to North Antrim UDA'. Details surrounding the search remain limited, and police have not disclosed the nature of their inquiries.

However, Ulster Unionist Party MLA for Upper Bann, Doug Beattie, made a claim on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, stating that arrests had occurred.

Responding to a discussion on the matter, Mr Beattie wrote: "Yep I have info. The police arrested a Bulgarian gang for exploiting women in a brothel. Is that info enough?"

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has not publicly commented on Mr Beattie's claims but reiterated that no arrests resulted from the operation.
