Two PSNI Officers Charged With Grievous Bodily Harm
Feb 10, 2025
Two police officers have appeared at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on another male.
David Mark Hagan, whose court documents list his address as Coleraine PSNI, 17–19 Lodge Road, Coleraine, and Jamie Ian Mahoney, of Limavady PSNI, 11 Connell Street, Limavady, were both in the dock on Friday, 7 February.
During a preliminary inquiry—a process used to determine whether a case should be escalated to the Crown Court—the officers declined to enter a plea or provide a written statement in response to the charge.
District Judge Peter King stated he was satisfied that a prima facie case had been established from the evidence submitted and that no contrary defence submissions had been offered.
The defendants were released on bail, set at £500, with their next appearance scheduled at Antrim Crown Court on 7 March.
